Meet the Artist

Howdy,

I'm Cass Hopper - owner & self taught silversmith of Hoppalong Silver Co. I started studying & teaching myself silversmithing in January of 2025.
As quickly as I got started I fell head over heels in love with the art, creating pieces that will tell stories for generations.

As a young girl I rode horses, traveled from rodeo to rodeo & most importantly fed my love for creativity. I grew up on my families 5th generation ranch - in Eastern Oregon.

I couldn't have had a more fulfilling & magical childhood, than I did running feral with my younger brothers. We learned & experienced things most folks couldn't even imagine.
The stories & memories influence my art, telling the tales of a wild lil brunette and her equally wild brothers.

Along with growing up in the high desert of Eastern Oregon - I also spent a lot of my childhood in Australia visiting my dad & family 'down under'.

Things weren't to different compared to back in OR - always 'getting back on the rodeo road', working horses, the rodeo life!

I was very blessed to be able to travel through almost half of Australia on my adventures.
From the Great Barrier Reef to the dry, deadly, red desert.

My dad is one of the most 'decorated' cowboys in the world, holding (15) All Around Cowboy of Australia, (13) 'Rope & Tie' / Calf Roping, (4) Steer Wrestling & (4) Team Roping titles for the Australian pro rodeo association.

(He qualified to his first Australian NFR at the age of 13 winning his first All Around Cowboy and Team Roping title.)

Traveling through the unforgiving baron land of 'the Down Under' - headed on the 'Southern Run' (Aus's "Cowboy Christmas")- I learned so much from my dad & family.

About the culture of the indigenous people of Australia, the history of the "Great Kangaroo War" (a whole country of outlaws got their behinds whooped by oversized rage rabbits in 1932) but most importantly they taught me how to always pursue my passions & goals in life.

My Dad & Grandad always told me "if your not out there getting better / working hard - there's always someone who is & they will be the one to succeed."

Don't let the hard times, set backs, etc. discourage you, instead turn it into fuel to push yourself.

I was always surrounded by support and love to follow my passions. My mom is a well known western artist / muralist. She always deeply encouraged & nurtured the creativity she passed down to us (my brother & I).

All kinds of art forms have always been a huge aspect through my life. I've continuously found serenity in creativity.

When I found silversmithing and jewelry designing; I instantly knew I had found my deepest passion.

I am so thankful to be so blessed to be able to follow my passions, tell my stories & make the world a little more beautiful; one heirloom piece at a time.
